Name of the Examination- Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2015

Academic Qualifications-

1. For Primary Teachers : Applicants must hold Senior Secondary / Diploma / Bachelors degree (4 years) in Elementary Education.

2. For Elementary Teachers : Applicants must possess Graduation degree and Diploma (2 years) in Elementary Education / B.Ed. / B.El. Ed.

Examination Pattern-

PSTET consists of 2 papers, Paper-I for Classes I to V and Paper-II for Classes VI to VIII. The questions asked in the examination will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and each question carries 1 mark. Negative marking is not applicable. Paper-I is for candidates who intend to be teachers of classes I to V and Paper-II is for candidates who intend to be teachers of classes VI to VIII. Applicants who are willing to be teachers of both levels need to appear for both the papers. Each paper consists of 150 questions.

1. Paper-I :

i. Child Development & Pedagogy : 30 questions

ii. Language I: 30 questions

iii. Language II  : 30 questions

iv. Mathematics : 30 questions
