Academic Necessities- Aspirants should have passed class 12th / Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks in any stream from a known University; B.Ed / B.E.I.Ed degree or Diploma in Education (Special Education) / Elementary Education of 2 years or Graduation degree with at least 50 per cent marks and Bachelors in Elementary Education of 4 years respectively. Contenders applying for the position of Language Pandit should have obtained Graduation degree in the relevant language as the main subject.
Pattern of Examination- APTET Examination comprises of two papers, namely Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is for those aspirants who are looking forward to be a teacher for class I to V and Paper-II is for those aspirants who are looking forward to be a teacher for class VI to VIII. Aspirants who are looking forward to teach at both levels have to appear for both the papers. Each paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. Duration of each paper is 2 ½ hours.

2. Language I : 30 questions
3. Language II (English) : 30 questions
4. Mathematics : 30 questions
5. Environmental Studies : 30 questions

1. Child Development and Pedagogy : 30 questions

3. Language II (English) : 30 questions
4. Mathematics & Sciences (Mathematics, Physical Science and Biological Science) OR Social Studies (History and Civics, Geography & Economics) : 30 questions
Syllabus of Examination-
1. Child Development and Pedagogy : Educational Psychology of Teaching, understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, etc.
2. Language I : Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Oriya and Tamil.
3. Language II (English) : English language
4. Mathematics and Environmental Studies : Class 10th level questions on Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
