WB SSC Exam 2014-15
WB SSC will hold the Written Test for the Assistant

Educational Details:
Candidate should have passed Class XII from the
recognized Board.
Selection Criteria:
Candidate has to pass the written exam, PMT, Personal
Interview and Medical Verification rounds.
Document verification will be conducted before the Interview round.
Those candidates who qualify all the phases will be invited for the Training.
The final selection of the persona will be based upon the marks secured by them
in Written Test and PI.
Age Bar:
The minimum age required for the post is 18 years and the
maximum age should not go beyond 27yrs. The age will be reckoned as on Jan 1st,
2014. The upper age is relaxed to the OBC candidates of 3 years and ST and SC
candidates of 5 years.
Download Admit Card:
The commission will dispatch the Admit Card on 5 March,
2014. Candidates who have not received the Admit Card through post can download
their Admit Card/Hall Ticket from the official website of the WB SSC from dated
19 March, 2014.

Exam Pattern for Assistant
Sub-Inspector of Excise:
The written test will have Multiple Type Questions carry
total marks 150 and time limit 2 hours.
The sections in the exam will be General English, Arithmetic Ability,
Geometry, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Computer, General Knowledge,
General Science and General Studies.
The wrong answer will deduct candidate’s 0.25 marks as
penalty for wrong attempt.
The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Personal
Interview will be organized on the same day and date and the notification
regarding this will be provided later.
Personal Interview carries total 10 marks.

Applications are invited through offline or online mode.
Candidates can avail any of the modes and apply for the post. The online
application form completely filled should be taken in the hard copy form and

Cost to Pay:
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates have to
remit an amount Rs 20/- only while all other categories need to pay an amount
Rs 220/- in the shape of Challan Form. Charges can also be remitted through
online modes.
