CSAT [Civil Services Aptitude Test] is administered by UPSC every year to recruit the candidates in the IAS, IFS and IPS services. Age Criteria: The age of the candidate should be in between 21yrs to 30yrs as on the specific date. Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved caste.

Educational Criteria: Candidate should have done Bachelor Degree from the reputed college.

Attempts Limit:

Candidates of Unreserved Category are given 6 attempts, 9 attempts for the candidates of Other Backward Category and no restriction for Scheduled Caste applicants.

CSAT Dates-2014:

CSAT Notification Date: 17th of May, 2014

Closing Date of Application Receipt: 16th of June, 2014 

CSAT Preliminary Exam Date: 24th of August, 2014

CSAT Mains Exam: 14th of December, 2014

Cost of Registration: Rs100/-

CSAT Exam 2014:

Preliminary Test: Comprises 2 compulsory papers carrying 200 marks each and time duration 2hrs each. The questions will be objective type.

Mains Test:

Paper 1 comprises Essay Writing (200 Marks) and English Comprehension & English Précis (100 Marks).

Paper 2 comprises General Studies-1 [Geography and Indian Heritage and Culture, History] (250 Marks)

General Studies-2 [Social Justice, Constitution, Governance,    Polity and   International Relations] (250 Marks)

 General Studies-3 [Economic Development,   Technology, Environment, Bio-diversity, Security   & Disaster Management] (250 Marks)

General Studies-4 [Integrity, Ethics, & Aptitude]

Two Optional Subjects (250 Marks Each)

Personality Test: 275 Marks

Indian Polity and Governance - Political System, Constitution, Panchayati Raj, Rights Issues, Public Policy, Environmental Ecology and Climate Change, General Science, India & World Geography –Physical, Economic & Social, General issues on Bio-diversity ,  Geography of India and the World  Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development Demographics Poverty, Social Sector initiatives Inclusion, History of India and Current Events of National and International importance, Indian National Movement,  Etc

Paper2: 

General Mental Ability, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, Decision-Making and Problem-Solving

 Applying Details:

Candidates can apply online as well as offline for the exam. The availability of online registration will be available from 17th of May to 16th of June. Candidates also apply offline and send their complete application form at Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi – 110011 before last date.
