Description of SCRA Exam 2015 :
Examination Name- SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) Exam 2015
Age Group- Contenders should not be less than 17 years of age and should not be more than 21 years of age as on 1st of January, 2015 i.e. contenders should have been born after 2nd of January,1994 and before 1st of January, 1998. Age relaxation is applicable for contenders of OBC / SC / ST category as per the norms.
Educational Necessities- Contenders should be Intermediate or equivalent pass from a renowned Board / University with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as subjects Intermediate level. Applicants with Graduation degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their degree subjects can also apply.
SCRA Exam 2015 Pattern- The Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam consists of 3 written papers and Interview of the applicants who qualify the written examinations. The questions asked in the written examination will be of Multi choice. Each paper carries 200 marks and is of 2 hours duration. All the three written examinations will be of total 600 marks. Questions asked in all the three papers will be of Intermediate standard.
1). Paper-I General Ability (English, General Knowledge and Psychological Test) : 200 marks
2). Paper-II Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) : 200 marks
3). Paper-III Mathematics : 200 marks
Candidates who are declared qualified of the written examinations are shortlisted for the Interview (Personality Test). Interview carries 200 marks.
Process of Selection- Selection of jobseekers will be based on Written Examination and Interview.
Registration Charges- Application fee is Rs.100, which has to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India or should be paid through Net Banking of State Bank of India / State Bank of India Group or by using Debit Card / Credit Card. PH / SC / ST / Female category applicants are not liable to pay the application fee.

All the required details must be filled by the jobseekers in the online application form. Contenders must upload scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph and signature. Contenders must submit the application accordingly and then print a hard copy of the same for future reference.

SCRA Exam 2014
SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) is
the apprenticeship programme of four yrs duration which is administered and
governed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The apprenticeship here
means that the candidates selected through the Entrance Exam and Personal
Interview will have to put through under the training session. The successful
end of the training session will make the candidate eligible for holding the
chief positions in the department of Mechanical Engineering, Railway of India.

Educational Requirements:
Students must have passed with 1st
or 2nd division in class 12th
and have studied compulsory subjects like Mathematics and the
Chemistry & Physics as in the qualifying exam.
The same subject’s restriction applies on the
Bachelors programme also.
Candidates who have passed the 1st
or 2nd yr of graduation with minimum 55%/60% marks in the said
subjects above can also apply provided that the degree programme must be
recognized from the University.
Candidates holding Engineering
diplomas are not eligible for the exam.
Age Restraint:
Students falling under the age bracket of
17years to 21 years are eligible to apply for the SCRA exam.
Students of the Scheduled Caste, Domicile of
J&K and Scheduled Tribe have the age relaxation of five years and Other Backward
Classes have the age freedom of three years.
How to Fill Application Form:
The completion of Registration
process will be through online way. Candidates need to register themselves for
the Exam through visiting the official website of the UPSC from dated 5th
October, 2013 to 4th November, 2013. The registration process will
be considered completed if he/she fills all the particulars related to
personal, educational and transactional details etc provided in the form. The
fee can be paid through depositing challan form/Registration Form in any State
Bank of India or its associate bank’s branch. Using of SBI net banking or
Visa/Master Cards can also be availed by the candidates for making payment.
Examination Fee:
Candidates of open class and OB
class required to pay Rs 100 only through the specified modes of payments while
rest of the categories (Girls also) are free from the charges.
Exam Structure/Scheme:
The exam paper consists of the three major
sections of total 600 marks. This includes GA (General Ability) test of marks
200 & time limit 120minute which comprises G.K, English and Psychological questions. The second
paper is Physical Sciences of marks 200 & time limit 120minute which
contains the questions related to Chemistry & Physics. The last section is
Mathematics with 200 marks & time duration of 120 minutes.
Marks will be deducted for the negative
answers. The paper will be in English medium and it is at the discretion of the
Commission to attach the criteria of the sectional or total cutoffs marks for
the subjects.
