Civil Services 2014 Exam Pattern & UPSC New Pattern

 UPSC disclosed the vacancies in the Civil services field in 2014. Civil services examination will conducts in the month of May.

There are two type of civil services:

       1.      Preliminaries

       2.      Main 

Preliminary dates:

There are some important dates in the preliminaries mention below:

Notification date: 17.05.2014

Ending date of receipting the application: 16.06.2014

Examination date: 24.08.2014.

Exam duration           :  1 day

Main exam date:

Commencement of examination date: 14.12.2014

Examination duration: 5 days

There are 9 paper will conducts in the main examination and all the examinations are of descriptive type.

There are two type of test one is written test and other one is personal interview. The written examination will contain the total question of 1750 marks and the personal interview of 275 marks. The total marks will be 1750+275=2025.

Total 9 Paper will be conducted mention as below:

Paper1:

It is based on the Essay type’s questions of marks 250. Candidates can write the exam in the language of the own choice.

Paper2:

It is based on the Language of 300 Marks. Candidates can use any Modern or Indian language for qualifying this paper.

Paper3:

It is based on the English language of 300 marks.

Paper4:

It is based on the General Studies-part 1 of 250 Marks. There are some topics comes under the General studies such as:

·         Indian Culture

·         History

·         Geography of the World.

Paper5:

It is based on the General Studies –part 2 of 250 Marks and question will be based on these topics such as:

·         Governance

·         Constitution

·         Polity

·         Social Justice

Paper6:

It is based on the General Studies –part 3 of 250 Marks and the topics are:

·         Technology

·         Economic Development (ED)

·         Bio-diversity

·         Environment

·         Security

·         Disaster Management.

Paper7:

It is based on the General Studies –part 5 of 250 Marks and the topics are in this paper:

·         Ethics

·         Integrity

·         Aptitude

Paper8:

It is based on the optional subject-part 1 of 250 marks.

Paper9:

It is based on the optional subject-part 2 of 250 marks.
