Written Test Syllabus:
1. English: Basic rules
of English and complete knowledge of
English language.
2. General Knowledge: History,
Civics, Geography, Political Science, Current Events and Awareness Etc.
3. Elementary Mathematics:
The various sub topics include in this section are:
Arithmetic: Operations on Number, Square Root, Ration and
Proportion, Decimal, Time and Distance, Fractions, Profit and Loss, Variation,
Simple Interest, Compound Interest Etc.
Algebra: Simple Factors, Basic Operation, H.CF. , L.C.M., Remainder
Theorem, Theories of Polynomials, Solution of Quadratic Equation, Relation
between its roots and Coefficient , Linear Equations, Linear In-equations,
rational Number Etc.
Trigonometry: Sine x,
Cosine x, Height and Distance, Simple Trigonometric Identities, Use of
Trigonometric Tables.
Geometry: Lines and
Angles, Sides and Angle of a Triangle, Parallel Lines, Similar Triangle, Loci,
Property of Angles Etc.
Mensuration: Area of Squares, Rectangle, Parallelogram,
Surface Area and Volume of Cuboids, Triangle and Circle, Cylinders and Cones Etc.
Statistics: Collection and Tabulation of Statistical Data,
Graphical Representation, Frequency Polygon, Histograms , Bar chart, Pie
chart Etc. Measure of Central Tendency.
Personal Interview/ Intelligence Test:
In this
phase, candidates are required to go through Group Test and Intelligence Test
where they have to proof their intelligence in verbal and non verbal type
questions. There, they have to be tested in terms of their awareness to the
outside world and social attributes.
NOTE: The
Elementary Mathematics paper includes the questions up to class 10th
while for other sections; candidate should have knowledge up to the Graduate
level.
The Examination Pattern of CDS is as per the following
manner:
For admission to IMA (Indian Military Academy), INA
(Indian Naval Academy), Air Force
English: 100 Marks
General Knowledge: 100
Marks
Elementary Mathematics: 100 Marks
For admission to Officers’ Training Academy:
English: 100 Marks
General Knowledge: 100
Marks
The duration
of each paper is 2 hrs.
The next
phase of the CDS is Personal Interview/ Intelligence Test.
Eligibility Criteria for CDS Exam 2014-15
Date of Birth:
Unmarried
Male Candidate must be citizen of India and his Date of Birth for admission IMA,
INA should fall between 2nd Jan, 1991 and 1st Jan, 1996
and for Air Force, it should be 2nd Jan, 1992 and 1st
Jan, 1996.
For
Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men), Date of Birth should fall
between 2nd Jan, 1990 and 1st Jan, 1996 and they can be
married or unmarried.
For
Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non- Technical Course), Date of Birth
should fall between 2nd Jan, 1990 and 1st Jan, 1996.
Academic Requirements:
For IMA
& OTA, candidate should have Graduation degree from the recognized college.
For INA,
candidate should have the B.Tech/B.E course.
For Air
Force, candidate should complete Graduation but studied Physics &
Mathematics at Intermediate level OR done B.Tech/ B.E qualification.
