Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for post of Stenographers Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ and for this; the commission will be holding combined aptitude test on all India basis on 14th September, 2014. Duty Place: All India Service Liability 

Age Bar: 

 The applicants should have minimum age of 18 years whereas their maximum age shall not cross the age limit of 27 years. The crucial date of computing age shall be 1st Aug, 2014. The age grace or concession shall also be maintained on the reserved categories as per the government norms.

Academic Qualifications: 

 The candidates should pass Class 12 from reputed educational board and possess shorthand speed of 80 WPM for Steno ‘D’ and 100 WPM for Steno ‘C’ post. 


Selection Basis: 

 The commission will hold All India Aptitude Test for shortlisting candidates for the skill test. The candidates are supposed to have typing speed as required by the commission for qualifying in the skill test. The final selection will be confirmed on assessing candidates’ performance in both the rounds. 

Registration Charges:

 The candidates of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physical Challenged and Women categories are free from paying the registration fee that is Rs 100/- for all other remaining categories.  The fee can be paid through Challan Form duly paid in State Bank of India or availing Interned Banking by SBI. The other mode of paying charges is through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) that can be obtained from any of Post Offices situated in districts. The application fee once submitted shall not be refunded. 

Procedure of Application: 

 The candidates can apply online or offline as per their convenience. For online application, last date for Part1 registration shall be 25th June, 2014 whereas for Part 2 shall be 27th June, 2014. Be online or offline, the application form in complete manner shall be received to the commission before last date.

Age Eligibility:

 Candidates who have not attained the age more than 50yrs are eligible for the post. The last date to calculate candidates’ age will be last date of the application receipt. Age relaxation will also be applicable to the candidates of reserved categories.

Required Eligibility: 

Candidates should be working in any Government Department as mentioned above at Gr. D/Gr. 3 cadre. Candidates have to produce the certificate in support of the government employees.  

Ways of Selection:
Those candidates who have applied for the posts require passing the Written Test that will comprise of General Awareness and English Language sections of 200 Marks each. After passing the written test, candidates will be called for Stenography/Shorthand Skill Test. This phase also constitutes 200 Marks.

Candidates should download the application format and fill up the information as required by it. Attach the required Xerox copies of testimonials and send this to The Regional Director (NR), Staff Selection Commission, Block No.12, C.G.O. Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110504 latest by 4th of Apr, 2014. Candidates of far living areas have to send applications latest by 11th of April, 2014.
