WB SET (West Bengal State Eligibility Test) is conducted every year in the month of September-October by West Bengal College Service Commission for selecting candidates to fill up the positions of Librarian and Assistant Professor. Name of the Subjects- The eligibility test is conducted in various subjects; some of them are given below-
1). English
2). Urdu
3). Hindi
4). Education
5). Geography
6). Economics
7). Sociology
8). Commerce
9). History
10). Library & Information Science, etc.
Academic Necessities- Applicants should have obtained 55 per cent marks or its equivalent at Graduation and Post Graduation degree level. Applicants appearing in their final year of Post Graduation degree level can also apply.
Examination Pattern- The eligibility test will comprise of three papers. Multiple Choice Questions will be asked in the question paper.
1). Paper-I : Total 60 questions out of which 50 questions are compulsory to be attempted which carries 100 marks. Time of examination is 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
2). Paper-II : Total 500 questions and all questions are compulsory carrying 100 marks. Time of examination is 10:45 am to 12:00 noon.
3). Paper-III : Total 75 questions and all questions are compulsory carrying 150 marks. Time of examination is 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Examination Syllabus- Syllabus of WB SET is similar to that of UGC NET. It is further explained as-
1). Paper-I : Teaching Aptitude, General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Computers and Logical Thinking
2). Paper-II : Subject based questions
